Going live for the first time is intimidating — here's what we'd tell any new broadcaster before their debut.
1. Test your audio first. A quiet room and a decent microphone matter more than expensive gear. Do a private test run before you invite listeners in.
2. Have a loose outline, not a script. Live audio feels best when it's conversational. Know your first two minutes cold, then let the rest breathe.
3. Schedule it. Even a rough start time helps regular listeners find you. Broadcasts scheduled ahead of time show up on listener dashboards automatically.
4. Invite a collaborator. A second voice takes the pressure off and makes for a more natural conversation, especially early on.
5. Don't obsess over listener count. Your first broadcasts build the habit — both yours and your audience's. Consistency beats a big opening night.
